Polymeric Biocide
Polymeric Biocides are commonly used both in the medical industry to fight infection and the food industry to fight contamination.
Sometimes known as antimicrobial polymers, they have been engineered to mimic the immune systems of living things to kill viruses and bacteria. Our components look and acts like soap molecules as illustrated below.
Non-Hazardous
Antimicrobial polymers are both non-volatile and chemically stable, with next-to-no associated environmental hazards. This makes our active components perfect for fighting infection and contamination. Additionally, they are also widely used in water sanitation to inhibit the growth of microorganisms in drinking water.
Due to its higher manufacturing cost per ounce, it isn’t widely available for use by the general public compared to alcohol.

No Alcohol?
Ideally, washing your hands regularly is the best defense against any bacteria or virus.
It’s generally thought that an alcohol based sanitizer is the next best option, however alcohol tends to irritate and dry skin over time, and it also doesn't remain protective once dried.
On the other hand, XtraSAN is an alcohol free, complex polymeric biocide and virucide that is applied to the hands or surfaces for the purpose of removing common pathogens (disease-causing organisms) and viruses.
